Buy Your Real Estate Domain Name at 1and1.com

So, you've decided it's time to buy your very own domain name and now you need to know which registrar is the best and/or cheapest. Many "cheap" registrars online today give me the heebie jeebies, so my recommendation is pulled from my own experience and across only reputable registrars.

I recommend you purchase your domains from 1and1 as they still have the best deal for .com registrations at $6.99 per year. However, you can get up to 5 domain registrations free if you decide to open a website hosting account with them. I honestly would not recommend 1and1 as a website host (that recommendation will come in another post) as they handle hosting a bit oddly and you may have issues.

If you do have website hosting elsewhere, once you register your shiny new domain for $6.99 you will easily be able to login to 1and1.com and change the DNS settings to point the domain over to your host. You'll need to add the domain to your hosting account and they'll provide the right DNS settings (usually something like NS1.webhost.com).
